Collage Christmas Card Supply List

Hi Bloggers!
Since tomorrow evening we begin our Collage Christmas Card tutorial, I wanted to go over the supply list.  I plan to do this in two parts, the first part is simply preparing for assembly.  There are several steps before we can actually put the card together.  The second part is the assembly and stamping of the card.
I hope to cover it in two days, but if it takes us three, I will definitely devote the time to make sure everyone understands the steps to a beautiful vintage collage card!
If you look carefully, you will notice a key, keyhole, chipboard ephemera, old lace, old trim, numbers 2 & 5 (brads) and 3 different papers all with distressed edges. It is also lightly dusted with glitter and tied with 2 ribbons.
Supplies for Monday:
*1 package of Recollections Cards & Envelopes.  You can use any size you wish, however I will be using the larger size, the 5" x 6.5" pack.
* Patterned paper with vintage images.  You can find vintage paper from October Afternoon, Reminisce, Bo Bunny, Graphic 45, and other paper companies.
I will be using Graphic 45.  Their current paper collection available now is Nutcracker Sweet, and it will work well for this type of card. (In my samples, I used the Christmas Past collection which is from a few years ago.)
If you do not wish to purchase the entire Nutcracker paper collection, you can simply purchase the single sheets with vintage images on them.  The ones that work best are Endearing Sentiments, Holiday Magic, Enchanted Journey, and Festive Fairytale. These all have images which can be cut out easily.
(Graphic 45 had patterned paper from the discontinued Playtimes past collection which featured old toys.  It has some great antique toys and images you can cut out and use for these cards.  I did find many places online which still carry it including Simonsaysstamp.com, amazon, and bluemoonscrapbooking.com to name a few.)
* Coordinating papers that look nice with the vintage images.  You can use the paper collection, old vintage music sheets, anything that gives that shabby, old timey feel.
* Paper trimmer or Gillotine paper cutter for ease in separating images (optional but very useful)
* Scissors for fussy-cutting
* Distress Ink in Vintage Photo for distressing all papers used on the card
* Sponge or blending tool for inking up the sides of the cards and embellishments
* Embossing folders of your choice
* Foil paper (for embossing) in coordinating colors to your paper line. (optional, used as backgrounds)

Supplies for Tuesday:

* Vintage Buttons (or buttons made-to-look old)
* Pearls, brads, and gems (select vintage colors) that coordinate with paper line.
* Vintage lace and trims in colors that coordinate with your paper line.
* Stickles ( your own color choice)  I like Diamond.
* Sentiment stamp in Vintage style font
* Red, Green or Gold (your choice) Embossing Powder and Heat tool for sentiment on inside of card.
* All prepared papers from Monday
* Thin 1/8 " ribbon (in colors of your choice) I use a combination of two, usually red and green with gold edges.  I found it at Michael's 3 colors to a spool.  JoAnn's has it also last I checked.
* Ephemera (I use old music, old photos, tickets, ticket stubs, vouchers, bingo tokens, keys, charms) Just use anything you think would look cool on your card.  It's up to you!
You can even use the G45 Nutcracker Chipboard Tags if you wish!

**Below are some FREE Vintage Victorian Christmas Images that you may download and print!

I am looking forward to showing you how to make these beautiful cards!  They can be modified to make Valentine's Day cards, Easter cards, and any other holiday.  Especially when G45's new line "Place in Time" is released.  Each month has images you can cut out that correspond to that month's holiday or event!  They are fun and easy to make, but they do take a LOT of time, so the more prepared you are, the smoother it will go!

One final thought before I sign off, won't you please leave a comment below?  I get many visitors from over 30 countries and 6 continents, yet I get very few actual comments.  So I am going to ask you today, "Won't you please leave me some feedback? " I want this blog to be your happy place, and that begins with hearing from YOU.  I want to know what you think of my topics, tutorials and any thing else you want to discuss!  You are important to me!  I do hope I hear from you.  Just click on the word " comment" below.  That's it!

See you tomorrow evening!

Via email:Thanks so much for sending me this notice. I am an avid fan of your blog but with very little time and your reminders pull me in for a little relaxation and encouragement. I am getting ready to go out of town again and won't be able to do your Collage Christmas cards, but have been inspired to do more collaging by it. Thanks again ReNae!

ReNae...this looks beautiful - as are all of your cards! And I love that you are blogging and giving your inspiration to others! I think it is a beautiful inspirational place to spend time! I wish I could make these cards but it seems way too advanced for me...I think I will stick with my quilling at this point. But I sure do love looking at all of your beautiful creative ideas and watching how you make things come alive!!! You are a true inspiration!!! Much love - Marcy
