Hello Bloggers!
Today I want to share a really cool technique called Faux Embossing. I learned about this technique from my good friend Elise Ann Durenberger an accomplished paper designer and artist. Elise has been a designer for Graphic 45, Just us Girls, Buttons Galore & More, Want2Scrap, Wplus9, and countless others! She is an artist, an inspiration, and better yet, a wonderful friend.

one package of Swivel Clasps, all from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Line.

Elise Durenberger made this beautiful card using Shamrocks for the Faux Embossing technique |
Isn't this a lovely card? Such a nice result without using an embossing folder! |
And JUGS Guest Designer Marisa made this card, using the same technique, using Butterflies! |

Here is a detailed tutorial for FAUX EMBOSSING by Splitcoast Stampers.
(Just click the above and the tutorial will appear!)
You select the shape you want to use and punch out as many images as you want to put on your card. As you will learn in the tutorial (above), after sandwiching them between the card and some paper, and running them through the Big Shot, you get this beautiful result!

ReplyDeleteP.S. - I'm HONORED that you thought I designed for Graphic45! HOWEVER, that was a cross promotional blog hop with Want2Scrap! What FUN to combine those two! xoxo!
Happy st paddys day!
ReplyDeleteI remember the first time I saw Elise's work was on the G45 blog. I was so impressed that I clicked to link to her blog, MamaCow Creatons. It was that day that I got so inspired, that it literally changed my life. Her positive blog posts and wonderful creations put me in a better and more positive frame of mind, (you see I had just had surgery and was in pain).
ReplyDeleteI will always be grateful to Elise for pulling me up out of a sad place and for subsequently becoming my friend and blog buddy!
You can see her work for yourself at http://mamacowcreations.blogspot.com .
Hint: These are considered to be lucky, and are an icon of St. Patrick's Day...
